JL (Jeffers)

Hey kids. I'm Jeffers. I've been with these guys off and on for 6 years now, and we sure are having a blast. From our very first show I knew that we were a band that had something. Don't get me wrong, none of us are super talented musicians, but I think we represent exactly what we want music to be: original, from the heart, and kick ass.

I was born on April 2, 1980, and 15 years later started playing with Brandon and Dan (and Chris, who we have sadly lost to the Great White North). I got my first and only drumset when I was 14. I'd been playing for a couple years before then, but when I got my own set I took it a bit more seriously. I've never had a lesson, so I guess I'm a little weak on the technical side; however, my policy is to play loud and hard ("kick ass and take names") and I needed no formal instruction for that.

As far as influences go, Taylor Hawkins is the one drummer I would trade places with in a second. I've always loved the Foo Fighters, and when they got Hawkins I almost died. Man, watching that guy is just unreal. The drummer for Finger Eleven (damn, I can't remember his name) is quite cool to watch, and that dude can play too. Tyler Stuart (Barenaked Ladies) went to our highschool, and he's a cool guy and a great drummer. I've always been a fan of BNL, they were my first concert.

Before I sign off, let me put in a few free plugs. Here's what I use:
Tama Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, and Pro-Mark sticks. I get my gear at Just Drums at Finch and Yonge, and the guys there have always been cool.

Well, I guess that's about all I have to say. I just want to send a shout-out to Agent Sinclair, who has always been there to "give me a hand". And I'd also like to thank people who have been around since the MKATFBC days. Without you guys, well, I guess things would be exactly the same since we aren't big and famous (yet). But either way, we appreciate all your support, and can't wait tear things up once again like we did back in the day...
