Well, Happy New Year everybody!
Things around here at camp Phonies are pretty busy. Unfortunately, we don't have too many shows in the near future, but we're doing a lot of promotional stuff which is really paying off.
We do have a show or two in the works, and as soon as something is confirmed
it'll be posted. But with school and all, shows will be a little spread out until the summer. Not to worry though,
we'll be hitting your town soon.
Street
Team Has Arrived
The members of our new Street Team are doing a great job promoting us. We've had visits to our site from all over Canada, and even quite a few from our neighbours to the south.
We are still looking for new members (our goal is to have at least one person
in every province), so if you're interested in helping us out, just drop us a line.

The Phonies have completed a studio 3 song sampler that we are selling/giving away depending on our mood. Chances are that if you get in touch with us we'll fire off a freebee, so just drop us a line. The CD includes Come Back Again, Madeliene, and a new track called You Remember.

Dan-O-Sound
We want to give a HUGE plug to our "super-producer" Dan Preston (danopresto@hotmail.com). Not only is he a killer producer/engineer/storyteller (and dancer as we discovered), but he's also an all-round great guy. He sufferred through two days of recording with a half-broken nose to get our stuff done, and only complained about it 3 or 4 times an hour. What a trooper. So, if you need ANY recording done, we suggest you get in touch with him and see if you can hook something up. We personally want to give him a big thank you for all the help (not to mention deals) he's given us over the past few months.

New Recordings
THE PHONIES EP SET FOR EARLY SUMMER RELEASE!!
That's right kiddies, a yet to be titled 6 song EP will be released some time in late June or early July. We've got studio time booked this month, and we'll be finishing up in February and May. So, keep it tuned right here for the latest news, as well as some sample MP3s!
Any Press is good?
We've also had some luck in the press. We recently had an article/review published in the Independent Weekly that was very complimentary. (Thank goodness)
We should have a copy of that article posted. But that's not all. Another
Toronto paper, The Varsity, is currently writing another article on us that should be published in the next week
or two, and we'll post that one too.
Record Deals...Maybe...hope so....
We've also been contacted by a record company or two (both of which will remain nameless), and they have expressed some interest in our little band, so maybe some good things are on the horizon.
