The Phonies Live & In Action Well, it's 12:23am, and the band just finished their recording session at Newmarket
Multimedia. 10 slammin' tracks were recorded, and apart from a few screw-ups (inevitable when recording live-off-the-floor),
the stuff sounds sweet! Dan Preston did a great job with all the technical stuff, and The Phonies took care of
the rock.
New Show? As far a shows go, we have a tentative date at the Jaguar (that's right, the Jaguar) on 14 August. Apparently, we have to sell tix in advance, so let us know if you want to come. It'll be good times, trust me.
New MP3's Update The MP3s from this new demo (well, some of them) will be posted ASAP. I SWEAR THIS
TIME, THEY'RE COMING!! So, keep on comin' back now, ya hear? Ta ta.

"E" String Snaps....Dan Snaps...
Show goes on! Last night was our first "official" show at the Lava Lounge. First and foremost, we here at The Phonies want to thank everyone who came out and supported us. I would guestimate that there was about 30 of you or so, and that's not too bad for the first time around. Anyway, all things considered we're happy with the performance. We're all still in shock that Dan broke a string in the best part of Miss America, but these things happen (many thanks to the guitar player from Belting who lent us his axe for the rest of the set). We learned a valuable lesson: always have two guitars ready to go. That little fiasco threw our concentration/momentum temporarily, but I think we salvaged the remainder of the set and put on a decent show. We were recording the set for our FACTOR application, and with some crafty editing I think we'll be just fine. We'd like to thank Zeke Myers for scoring us the gig, Mike Our Faithful Business Guy for being his regular business guy self, and Dan Preston of "Danosound" for his services in recording the show. Of course, we must thank Belting and Mindz Eye for having us. And perhaps most importantly, thanks to Lindsay Fields and friends for agreeing to spend the first few hours of her 19th birthday party taking in the gig.

French Connection Mike Our Faithful Business Guy is off to Montreal with Serial Joe, and while he's there he's going to try and get the new demo into some important hands. The CD is called "The Phonies Live & In Action", and the cover art is quite hilarious. You're all in for a treat.
